Tom Kim is a Managing Director in the Activism and M&A Solutions Practice, which works with companies that are the subject of shareholder activism and/or M&A activity in the development and implementation of strategies designed to maximize shareholder value.

Tom joined FTI in May 2022 from an independent management consulting firm advising business leaders, owners and investors in strategic, financial and operational matters. In 2021, he led the sale of Atmos to Footlocker in a complex, cross-border transaction valued at $360mn plus earn-out. He also was engaged in diverse projects, including the reorganization of a start-up footwear manufacturer. Previously, Mr. Kim worked on Wall Street as a lead equity research analyst for Goldman Sachs. He has deep global industry knowledge of the Transportation, Logistics and Airline sectors. Mr. Kim brings rich international experience, with 12 years abroad in Asia and is highly skilled in cross-cultural engagements.

Mr. Kim has expertise in valuing companies, business improvement and capital management. He has held leadership roles in M&A, IPO and secondary issuances. Mr. Kim is a CPA by training, proficient in creating budgets/forecasting, financial planning and analysis, and managerial cost accounting. During his 16 years on Wall Street, he was recognized for his stock picking performance and earnings forecasting accuracy by independent rating companies, including StarMine, Institutional Investor and TipRanks.

He holds a B.S. in Hotel Administration from Cornell University and a joint M.S./M.B.A. from Northeastern University.
